Field Day Weekend is June 28 & 29. We will be on the air for 24 hours and need operators for the entire 24 hour period (even in the middle of the night).

This is a contest to test our ability to operate in the field on emergency power and with portable antennas. Thanks go to Mike WD8S, Gerry K8GT, Dee N8UZE and Carl N8AE for lending their radio equipment. And Bob WB8ATZ for making sure that our other equipment is all working and up to snuff and bringing them out to the Field Day site.

We’ll have something for everyone. No matter if you are heavy into contesting or just want to operate and make some Q’s. Experience not required—just that you want to give it the old college try. But if you are a contester, come join us and help us get a good score.

We also will have the GOTA station. Anyone who has gotten their license in the past year or does not have a license can work the GOTA station. There will be a control operator on duty at all times. Bring your kids to introduce them to ham radio.

Contact John K8UP at 248-542-9573 or email him at john@fleming-photo.com for more info or to let him know you are coming even if it’s a “maybe”. Don’t forget the BUG SPRAY & linens if sleeping over.

Rules Field Day Rules

Directions: Take I-75 North to exit 101 (Grange Hall Rd.) Turn Right (east). Continue on Grange Hall Rd. until you get to Dixie Highway - about 2 miles. Turn Left and go north about 2 miles until you get to Holridge Rd. (on the left). Go west on Holridge Rd. for about 1 and 1/2 miles past some houses until you see the camp area on the right (north) side of Holridge Rd.

To see a map go to the ARRL website and type in our callsign W8HP. then zoom in for a closer view.
