License Courses

The Hazel Park Amateur Radio Club has been offering license courses for nearly the entire lifetime of the club, both for new prospective operators and for those looking to upgrade their license class.

The current license course information is as follows:

  • Technician: Online via Zoom and in-person at the Southfield Civic Center (26000 Evergreen Rd., Southfield, MI), Thursdays 7-9 PM ET beginning January 5, 2023
  • General: In-person only at the Southfield Civic Center (26000 Evergreen Rd., Southfield, MI), Mondays 7-9 PM ET beginning January 9, 2023
  • Amateur Extra: Online only via Zoom, Tuesday evenings, 6-9 PM ET, beginning November 1, 2022 and going through March 21, 2023

License Testing

The club also has many volunteer examiners (VEs) in its ranks, and in addition to holding its own license examination sessions, it also regularly assists other area clubs in their exam efforts. Hazel Park ARC VE sessions happen on the first Tuesday of every even-numbered month.

Here are the details for the next scheduled Hazel Park ARC testing session:

  • Where: Oak Park Recreation Center, 13400 Oak Park Blvd., Oak Park, MI 48237
  • Masks are required for this session
